Workshops & Training
Providing customised, project-based support to help organisations achieve their goals efficiently and effectively.
Training for Professionals
Our professional workshops are designed to deepen practitioners’ understanding of the emotional landscapes of children and young people.
Rooted in lived experience and grounded in trauma-informed principles, these sessions inspire fresh perspectives and equip professionals with practical tools to foster meaningful relationships.
Led by Steven Russell, founder of Elements Support and Drip by Drip Consultancy, these sessions draw from his journey through the care system and his extensive experience working across education, residential care, and family support.
Since 2019, Steven has trained over 4,000 professionals, including teachers, social workers, foster carers, and residential staff, focusing on empathy, patience, and creativity as pathways to connection.
How It Works
These workshops are ideal for any professional supporting children and young people, including those in local authorities, fostering agencies, residential care, and educational settings.
Who is it for?
These workshops are ideal for any professional supporting children and young people, including those in local authorities, fostering agencies, residential care, and educational settings
What to Expect
Each session is an immersive, reflective experience that encourages attendees to reframe their approach to care. Through interactive activities, storytelling, and scenario-based learning, participants explore how consistent, compassionate actions, taken “drip by drip, day by day”, can melt the emotional barriers children often build for protection.
The training emphasises the importance of creating safe, trusting environments where children feel seen, heard, and valued. By fostering such connections, professionals can significantly impact the emotional well-being and development of the young people they support.
Format & Follow Up
We recommend a full-day workshop (9:30 AM–3:30 PM) to fully engage with the material and activities. However, we can tailor shorter sessions (1–3 hours) to meet specific needs.
Each training package includes a follow-up reflection session via Teams, providing an opportunity for participants to process their learning, share experiences, and discuss the implementation of new strategies in their practice.
Why Should You Trust Us?
Elements Support has received widespread praise from industry professionals including “Daniel Sobel”; an internationally respected leader in inclusive education, who has advised the DfE, the EU and governments abroad and the founder of Inclusion Expert and Daniel Croft; CEO of Foster Talk UK and industry professional with over 20 years of experience.
He has the ability to build a relationship both with the young person and their parent/carer to help support them through their difficulties offering strategies and guidance in an empathic, non judgmental manner. We have also worked within the same schools in their Multi Agency Centers (MAC). I have seen students who have worked with Steven as their family support worker and they all really valued the work he did with them. He is a very positive, caring person who is passionate about the wellbeing of young people, wanting them to become the best they can.
There’s a lot that I could say about Steven but I think that most people immediately get that he is genuine, real and highly experienced drawing from his own life story. He is a powerful, innovative and important voice working with children with SEMH challenges.
In over 20 years within social care, I have never even witnessed a bespoke programme that comes close to Elements, it’s rewards will live with children well into adulthood and filter down into generations to come.
It’s impossible to teach authenticity and passion, Steven manages to use his experience to bring an unparalleled level of passion to his work, added to his genuine authenticity and desire to learn and grow with these children, he’s an unbelievable resource to any educational environment.
